Good luck to Michael at palace. The Palace fans I chat to rate Dougie Freedman very highly as a manager so hopefully he's in good hands there. If that figure of £80,000 is an initial fee it's a club record by a fair distance.

Just had a tweet from the Snooze to say they have spoken to Gavin and the report on the Daily Mail is "untrue". Should be more in tomorrow's Southwark News, available form all good local newsagents priced 40p.

So we've got to wait to buy the Snooze tomorrow. And there was me waiting for the 'exclusive' on the official Club website! ;-)

The biggest mistake will probably be the fee...surely it should be 'undisclosed'! ;-)

You don't have to "buy" it. Just pick up a free copy from the dispensing box outside the estate agents by the bus stop opposite the EDT.

I actuallydon't mind buying it, it's a genuine small, independent, local newspaper. A rarity not just in London, but throughout the country.

But thanks for the tip! ;-)

So, would (the utterly hypothetical) £80k be a lot at this level?

From the 'Southwark News' today:

"Rose rubbishes latest Chambers speculation"

HAMLET GAFFER Gavin Rose has denied rumours that talented centre half Michael Chambers has already been signed by Crystal Palace for a fee of around £80,000. Speculation has surrounded the future of the teenager for months now with Man United and Spurs reportedly interested in picking him up along with Palace. A report on the Daily Mail website this week stated that Chambers had already signed for the south London club, something Rose said was wide of the mark. He told the News: "There is just no foundation in that report and the figure mentioned is nothing like what has been discussed. Palace have shown serious interest in Michael but there has been no agreement and as we talk now I expect Michael to be in the squad for us this weekend." Rose said that in the long term he and the club would not stop the youngster progressing but the rumours that surrounded him were not coming from Champion Hill. The Dulwich boss was also happy with the standard of play shown by his team in the weekend clash with Bognor. he added: "I think the football on show from both sides was a great advert for the game at that level. They have always had high standards and we matched them at the weekend and probably shaded it. If we had taken one of our chances in the first ten minutes they may have opened up. Bognor were far from negative but it was clear they were not going to leave themselves open at the back. It was a sign of the respect they have for Dulwich which is a good thing for us."

The "Snooze" also mentioned we are at home to Merstham on Saturday.
We are in fact AWAY to them.
