 Re: Saturday 11th sept
I happened to be near the ground today & popped in briefly. I was chatting to our newly appointed chief executive Martin Eede, now in his third spell at the Club, (he can't stay away, how's that for loyalty?) & said he didn't expect a game to be brought forward. That's not to say one won't, but unlikely.

 Re: Saturday 11th sept
Any match would realisitically have to be away as Fisher have a "home" game that day. Was looking at the teams so far knocked out with Martin on Tuesday and the only one we could spot that was not cast for a Saturday was Chatham which falls on the Tuesday before anyway (can't see the league allowing a game to be put BACK rather than brought FORWARD!) The "midweek" game away scheduled against a team out of the cup is away to Whytelafe on the Boxing Day Bank Holiday and I can't see them wanting to switch that. From a personal point of view might be worth arranging a friendly game against comperable opposition (say from the North Division) to give the team a competitive runout. We'll have to wait and see.

Leafe have already filled that date with a trip to Ramsgate according to their message board. The other option is to bring forward a midwinter Saturday fixture that might fall prey to bad weather.

 Re: Saturday 11th sept
Looking at the Ryman South teams like ourselves without a game on this day none of these really fit into that category unless I've missed someone out, the YMCA away game not scheduled until the 19th March next year and the home game the last before Christmas. Moving that would leave us without a home game from the 27th November until the (scheduled) New Year's Day game with the Plod. Likewise moving the Sittingbourne home game would leave without a game from the 1st to the 29th of January.

 Re: Saturday 11th sept
Personally, I like the idea of no game between 1st and 29th January. Let's face it, there's bound to be at least one postponement in that time, so this could realistically free up the risk of having to cram an extra game into the always busy final 3rd.
Can't the league liking it much but it shouldn't be dismissed. Outright. Gap weekends, especially at this time of year are a real waste

 Re: Saturday 11th Sept
Its not really the break from football that comes into it, its the income through the gate and other things. A postponement due to the weather or an Act of God is something we can't influence, but a long break without a home game does make things tight on the financial side.

 Re: Saturday 11th sept
Oh and by the way, Sittingbourne have now arranged a home game with Chatham, brought forward from Tuesday 21st Sept which leaves only ourselves and the YMCA without a game. A trip there might be feasible, if they are amenable. We are due to visit them on Saturday 19th March next year.
